The rules and conditions that govern your use of ParkET. Please read carefully before using the Service. Last updated 21 April 2025.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ParkET PLC ("ParkET", "we", "our", or "us"), a company registered under the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
By downloading the ParkET app, registering an account, or using any part of the ParkET platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Data Protection Policy, and Cookie Policy, all of which are incorporated by reference.
To use ParkET you must:
By registering, you represent and warrant that all of the above conditions are met.
You register by linking your Telebirr phone number and one or more Ethiopian vehicle plate numbers. You are responsible for ensuring that the plate numbers you register are accurate and that you are authorised to use them.
Your ParkET account is tied to your Telebirr number. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Telebirr account and must not share your Telebirr PIN with anyone. ParkET will never ask for your PIN.
You must keep your registered plate numbers and contact details up to date. Registering a plate number you do not own or have authorisation to use is prohibited and may result in account termination and referral to relevant authorities.
Your account is personal to you. You may not transfer your account to another person. Multiple users may not share the same account.
ParkET provides a digital platform that allows drivers to find authorised parking zones, pay for parking sessions via Telebirr, and receive digital session confirmations. The Service is currently available in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and may expand to other cities at ParkET's discretion.
We aim to make the Service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
Parking zone availability, pricing, capacity, and operating hours are set by the relevant city authority or zone operator, not by ParkET. ParkET displays this information as provided to us and cannot guarantee its accuracy at all times. Always observe physical signage on-street.
Authorised parking wardens may scan your vehicle plate to verify your session. You must not obstruct or interfere with a warden carrying out their duties. If a warden's device shows an error, the warden may contact ParkET support to verify your session manually.
All payments are processed exclusively through Telebirr. By initiating a payment, you authorise ParkET to instruct Telebirr to deduct the specified amount from your Telebirr wallet. Payments are final once confirmed by Telebirr.
Parking rates are determined by the relevant zone authority and are displayed in the app before you confirm payment. Rates are denominated in Ethiopian Birr (ETB). ParkET may charge a platform service fee in addition to the parking rate; any such fee will be displayed clearly before payment.
If a payment fails (e.g., insufficient Telebirr balance), no parking session will be activated. You remain responsible for paying for your parking through another authorised means or leaving the parking zone.
Parking session payments are generally non-refundable once the session has started. Refunds may be issued at ParkET's discretion in cases of technical errors causing duplicate charges or incorrect deductions. Refund requests must be submitted to support@parket.et within 7 days of the transaction.
Subscription plans (Monthly Pass, Fleet Plan) are billed in advance via Telebirr auto-renewal. You may cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused days.
You must not:
If your vehicle is found in a parking zone without a valid, active session, a parking violation may be issued by an authorised warden. Violations are logged with photographic evidence and GPS coordinates.
Violation fines are set by the relevant municipal authority, not ParkET. ParkET may facilitate collection of fines via Telebirr on behalf of the authority. Repeated violations may result in escalation to city enforcement bodies.
Providing false information or attempting to manipulate the violation review process is a serious breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination and referral to the relevant authorities.
If you believe a violation was issued in error, contact us at disputes@parket.et within 14 days with your evidence.
The ParkET name, logo, app design, software, and all related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to ParkET PLC. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, or other intellectual property without our prior written consent.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the ParkET app solely for your personal use in accordance with these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by Ethiopian law, ParkET's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to ParkET in the 3 months preceding the claim.
ParkET is not liable for:
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting support@parket.et. Deletion does not affect any outstanding obligations, including unpaid fines.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. We will notify you of termination unless prohibited from doing so by law.
On termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. Sections relating to payments owed, intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Before initiating legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for at least 30 days.
