How ParkET collects, uses, and protects your personal information. Last updated 21 April 2025.
ParkET PLC ("ParkET", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all users of the ParkET platform, including our driver mobile application, warden mobile application, and web-based administration dashboard (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have in relation to your data. It applies to all users of ParkET services operating in Ethiopia.
By creating a ParkET account or using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
ParkET operates in compliance with the Ethiopian Personal Data Protection Proclamation and other applicable data protection laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising or sell your data to third-party marketers.
We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
We engage trusted third-party service providers to operate infrastructure components of our Service (cloud hosting, SMS delivery, analytics). These providers process data only under our instructions and are contractually bound to protect your data.
Aggregated, anonymised parking revenue and occupancy data is shared with city sub-administrations for zone management purposes. Individual driver data is not shared without a legal basis.
Payment transaction data is processed by Ethio Telecom's Telebirr platform. Their processing is governed by the Telebirr Privacy Policy. ParkET receives only a payment confirmation and transaction reference — we do not access your Telebirr wallet, balance, or PIN.
We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or at the request of a competent Ethiopian government authority, provided such request complies with applicable law.
ParkET uses Telebirr as its sole payment processor. The integration works as follows:
Any questions about Telebirr's own data practices should be directed to Ethio Telecom.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specific retention periods:
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Section 7).
Under applicable Ethiopian data protection law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@parket.et.
The ParkET Service is intended for adults who are legally permitted to drive and hold a Telebirr account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification and/or SMS at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
